If you are pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a similar major and want to work in an exciting environment to solve challenging space exploration problems, we'd love to have you join our team.

We are seeking interns to join our Mechanical Systems teams in developing the next generation of spacecraft systems.

As an intern with our team, your responsibilities may include...

• Contributing to CAD and/or thermal model design.
• Contributing to structural, CAD, and/or thermal analytical modeling.
• Contributing to the drafting, planning, and execution of various mechanical and/or thermal tests.
• Working with a team to post-process the test data and compare the results to analytical predictions.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

• Are pursing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or similar degree
• Have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
• To access APL’s facilities and networks, US Citizenship status is required, subject to applicable laws.

You will go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you…

• Have experience in MATLAB (or another high level language)
• Have experience in PTC Creo (or an equivalent CAD system)
• Have experience in thermal desktop modeling software

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
