The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Prince George’s County Department of Parks and Recreation, Southern Recreation & Leisure Services Division, Youth & Teen Services is currently seeking a motivated and dynamic Teen Coordinator to support programming and services for youth ages 12–17.

Examples of Important Duties

  • Plan, organize, and implement structured teen programs, workshops, and special events.
  • Develop monthly activity calendars and coordinate site programming schedules.
  • Supervise teen participants and ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.
  • Serve as a positive role model and actively promote youth development principles.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with teens, families, community partners, and staff.
  • Track attendance, maintain accurate records, and complete required reports in a timely manner.
  • Monitor program supplies and assist with inventory control and purchasing requests.
  • Assist with outreach efforts to increase teen participation and community engagement.
  • Support off-site trips, mobile programming, and special initiatives as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with Commission policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Required

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience working with teens in recreation, education, mentoring, or youth development settings.
  • Ability to plan and implement age-appropriate programs.

Preferred
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Education, Human Services, or related field.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Supplemental Information

May be subject to medical, drug and alcohol testing.

Work hours
Varies hours: evenings, weekends, & holidays

Working Conditions/Environment
Must have strong customer service skills, be able to communicate clearly, be able to walk and stand for periods of time, and be available to work varied hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Additional on-site training will be provided. Pay rate is based on experience and qualifications.
