Summary Description:
Under the direction of the Director of Leadership Development, the Coordinator of Leadership Development supports the day-to-day implementation and refining of a comprehensive district-wide leadership development program for MCPS, spanning MCAAP positions across the system, as well as, design, implementation, coordination, and continuous improvement of MCPSs districtwide leadership development programming. The position supports leadership development for MCAAP members, including school-based and central services administrators, while advancing leadership pipelines for aspiring leaders in collaboration with the Department of Professional Learning to align career pathways and ensure coherence across efforts. The Coordinator ensures leadership development activities are implemented with fidelity, aligned to district priorities, and responsive to identified system and school needs. Using a continuous improvement approach, the Coordinator supports data-informed planning, implementation, and evaluation of leadership development, aligning outcomes with district priorities and advancing educational justice by reducing barriers for administrators from historically marginalized and underrepresented groups. The position contributes to organizational development by strengthening coherence across leadership pipelines, supporting consistent implementation, and reducing fragmentation across professional learning efforts. The Coordinator works collaboratively with central services offices, employee associations, and external partners to support leadership development programming and assists the Director in meeting documentation, reporting, scheduling, and accountability requirements related to assigned initiatives. Plan and facilitate professional learning sessions. Physical Demands: None Special Requirements: Availability to work a flexible schedule (collaboratively determined with the director), including occasional evenings and weekends to attend meetings, support professional learning sessions, and participate in conferences or leadership development activities. This is a 4-year rotating position. Upon completion of the term, the Coordinator will be eligible to be placed in a comparable Administrative and Supervisory (A&S) position aligned to their prior role.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES:
Knowledge of leadership development and professional learning practices, including adult learning theory; ability to support the design, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of leadership development programs. Knowledge of equity-centered leadership practices and organizational development principles; strong organizational, communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple initiatives, timelines, and logistical details simultaneously. Ability to collaborate effectively with school-based staff, central services offices, employee associations, and external partners; ability to collect, organize, and support analysis of data to inform continuous improvement.

Education Training Experience:
Masters degree from an accredited college or university. Minimum of five years of outstanding teaching experience. Minimum of two years experience as an assistant principal, preferably within MCPS. Demonstrated leadership experience in schools or central office working effectively with diverse staff including oversight of projects or professional development initiatives or programs. Other combinations of education, training, and experience that provide the required knowledge and skills may be considered.Certificate License: Meets Maryland certification requirements for administrator and supervision, Certificate license administrator I in the State of Maryland.
